OBEY IN LOVE-Amen

Matthew 22:37

"And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind""

When Jesus was confronted by the religious leaders of His day as to what is the greatest commandment the above is how He responded. In the Old Testament there are a lot of rules (613). But what God wanted was not a bunch of rule following "yes men". What God wanted was a people who loved Him and wanted to be in His presence. He didn't just want a people who did what He told them to do, He wanted people to obey out of love. These people that questioned Jesus were trying to trick Him. They were not concerned with a true love for God, they were only concerned with the things of this world. The same is true of the New Testament. God is not concerned with us just doing what He wants us to do. He wants us to obey out of love from our hearts.
Yes, we should want to be perfect like Jesus. Yes, we should wake up each day and try to be obedient. Yes, we should not do the things of the world. And yes, we should study our bibles and pray to spend time with God so that we can be more like Jesus but He doesn't want a bunch of rule following "yes men". Jesus is only concerned with our love for Him. It all comes from the heart. Our actions are just an overflow from our hearts. If you are continuing in a sin and wondering why; it is coming from your heart. The reason that people do not stop sin is either that they love that sin more than they love God or they do not want to take an honest look into their heart. If we love our sin more than we love God we then have to look at the true condition of our hearts. But either way we need to take a honest look at our hearts. What do you love? Who do you love? Take a look at what you do most and it will show you what you love most. As a child of God our hearts and lives should reflect that we love God with our entire being. Our actions should prove that we love God.
If your actions are not reflecting a love for God, I pray that you will cry out in prayer to a Holy, perfect God who is able to save you from your sins and heal you from any wrong heart condition. If your heart is not inclined to God, I pray that you will cry out in prayer to a God who longs for no one to perish. No matter what the condition of your heart, cry out to God in the name of Jesus Christ.

God bless you,
